Out of the Darkness

Before there was light there was Darkness. Darkness isn’t bad or evil, it was just first, before the statement “Let there be light.”

Bad times in our lives are often called periods of Darkness, perhaps they are better called periods of rebirth. Where we once again emerge out of the Darkness.

Well, I’ve slowly been coming out of such a period.

For those who know me personally none of what I’m going to share is new, but it will certainly be new
information to many others.

When I was a teenager I was diagnosed as Bi-Polar. I’ve had four major Manic episodes which resulted in four psychotic breaks and four hospitalizations, the last one being 2010 surrounding the death of my Mother.

Jimi Hendrix’s description of Bi-Polar is very appropriate:

“Manic depression is touching my soul
I know what I want but I just don’t know
How to, go about getting it
Feeling, sweet feeling
Drops from my fingers, fingers
Manic depression is catching my soul”

Some might be surprised that I consider Bi-Polar a blessing. If I hadn’t experience the really bad times, I wouldn’t appreciate the really good times. There are also connections between creativity and genius and Bi-Polar which I see true in my life. Mozart, Beethoven, Abraham Lincoln, Edgar Allen Poe, Agatha Christie, Ted Turner, of course Jimi Hendrix, Sinead O’Connor, Carrie Fisher, Robin Williams, Sir Isaac Newton, Vincent Van Gogh and even Martin Luther King Jr are all said to have had or have Bi-Polar.

I want everyone to know that whatever your mental illness, with the proper medical care and medication, self care and love (diet, exercise, meditation) you can come through to the other side as well.

I now find myself living by the principles of Ma’at, of truth, balance, order, harmony, law, morality, and justice.

If you need guidance in coming out of the Darkness again, for you came out of your mother’s womb from Darkness once before, I am a Life Coach and here to assist.
